When I returned to school 2008-2010 one of my classes invited a guest working in the publishing industry and proposed a design contest to create a full-page advertisements for one of the publishing company’s advertisers.

Students were allowed to submit as many designs as they liked and the employees of the advertiser voted on the submissions.  Of the five layouts I submitted, this design was chosen.

After the full page ad ran the company approached me about turning the concept into a full-fledge campaign of similar ads, which included half, quarter, and sixth page ads in both color and black & white.
